Danas je stres sve prisutan zbog čega vrijeme za sebe treba gledati kao potrebu, a ne luksuz! Majke se uglavnom žale na pritisak sa svih strana i imaju potrebu da im dan traje duže kako bi stigle napraviti sve što su zamislile. Istovremeno su nezadovolje što većinu stvari rade polovično zbog čega su razdražljive i nemaju vremena za sebe.

Roditeljski stres se najbolje prepoznaje po simptomima uznemirenosti koja je prisutna u svakodnevnim situacijama poput održavanja higijene, izljeva bijesa, priprema za školu, sukoba djece i otpora kod djeteta.

Svakodnevni stres

Svakodnevni stres čak i nije uvijek loš, ali je vrlo važno da majka bude svjesna tih situacija kako bi mogla spriječiti njegovo akumuliranje i kako se ne bi dovela do intenzivnog stresa koji je vrlo loš i za nju i za njeno dijete.

Intenzivan stres za rezultat daje razdražljivu i nestrpljivu majku koja je sklona negativnu pažnju usmjeriti na dijete na način da ga stalno umiruje, kritizira, drži prodiku, fizički kažnjava, viče i grubo smiruje.

Majčinski stres proizlazi iz nekih karakteristika djeteta poput neprilagođenog, zahtjevnog i bolesnog djeteta, karakteristika majke poput velikog broja majčinskih zahtjeva i doživljavanja sebe kao loše majke, odnosa majke i djeteta poput neuspješnosti u discipliniranju djeteta, ovisnosti djeteta o majci i i neispunjenih majčinskih očekivanja od djeteta te iz karakteristika okoline poput zahtjeva drugih uloga, nedostatka podrške i loše materijalne situacije.

Važno je biti svjesna od kuda majčinski stres proizlazi, ali je važno i da majka osvijesti njegove simptome kako bi mogla pronaći adekvatne mehanizme za nošenje sa stresom.

Simptomi stresa se primijećuju po učestalom pobolijevanju, ubrzanom radu srca, konstantnom umoru, napetosti, izraženoj stalnoj brizi, teškoćama u koncentraciji, zaboravljivosti, ljutnji, tuzi, neugodnim osjećajima straha, razdražljivosti, bezvoljnosti, gubitku interesa za dosadašnje aktivnosti, napetosti u odnosima, razdražljivom ponašanju, itd.

Svaka majka ima svoj način kako se boriti sa stresom, a važno je da zna prepoznati i koristiti ono što ju vraća u ravnotežu, umiruje i veseli. Važno je priznati si i dopustiti da ste ponekad pod stresom i da to apsolutno ne znači da ste zbog toga loša majka.

Majčinstvo je najteža uloga zbog čega je važno imati na umu da ne morate biti savršena majka svome djetetu jer ona jednostavno ne postoji.

Ako se zanemarujete dovest ćete se do stanja iscrpljenosti u kojem djetetu nećete moći pružiti podršku koja mu je potrebna. Zapamtite da je zadovoljna majka bolja majka i zato je važno da pronađete vremena za sebe i da se bavite onim što vas opušta i veseli.

Pronaći vremena za sebe zapravo znači naučiti reći ne određenim obvezama koje znate da nećete moći ispuniti, bolju organizaciju i slaganje prioriteta.

Svoje dijete učite vlastitim primjerom kako bi i samo znalo reagirati u takvim situacijama u kojima će osjetiti neugodne emocije i koje će si dopustiti proživjeti.

Ako vam pak stres uzrokuju određene odgojne situacije posebice onda kada dijete testira granice vrlo je važno da ostanete mirni i dosljedni, što znači da odlučno i jasno kažete svoj zahtjev jednom i da odredite prioritete vezane za dijete i ono što mu je potrebno. Budite usklađeni s djetetom kako bi mogli prepoznati njegove potrebe i njegove reakcije.
